Fiat Lux (March) - Howard Cable

In 1951, during the war in Korea, Canada's National Defense Department produced a radio series titled "Voice of the Army". The Howard Cable Concert Band was the main stay of this patriotic/public relations program. Half the musical content was military, the balance 50's pop. Thirty nine programes required two marches per show. I composed eight and at the war's end the music went to storage. Some years later I re-constructed several of these forgotten scores; one of which is Fiat Lux - Dedicated to the University of Lethbridge.

The Screamer - Fred Jewell / arr. Barry E. Kopetz

One of the truly great circus marches, the title refers to the term used by the circus bandsmen (Windjammers) to a circus march. And this one certainly lives up to its title! This is a showcase for the band with the technique to handle it. This is a real winner for the advanced band.

Tenth Regiment March - Robert Brown Hall / arr. Andrew Balent

Robert Browne Hall was a virtuoso cornet player, an outstanding bandmaster, and the composer of many fine marches. This excellent arrangement by Andrew Balent captures all the flair of a traditional concert march and makes the perfect addition to your next performance. An excellent choice and a wonderful way to work on 6/8 with your ensemble.
