Hymn for a Hero can serve as a separate work but, if desired, it can also be integrated in the four-movement composition A Hero's Tale. Concretely, this means that this flex version, following the opening fanfare, can be played along with the first movement (bars 9-52). The second part is an impressive, stormy description of the shipwreck he falls victim to. The next covers his happy life with his friend Friday, which takes the form of a melodious hymn. Lastly, the fourth part describes the tense confrontation with the Cannibals and his return home.
