Mountain Ridge Overture - John O'Reilly

Commissioned by the Mountain Ridge Junior High Symphonic Band of Highland, Utah, Mountain Ridge Overture is yet another fantastic addition to the concert band repertoire. This sparkling overture features syncopated melodies that explore a variety of meters, including 5/8, 3/8, 4/4, 3/4 and 5/4. Polychords and major seventh and ninth chords are used freely, achieving an exceptional spectrum of sound.
