The Journey of Invention - David Marlatt

provides ultimate flexibility for ensembles with incomplete instrumentation or odd combinations. These pieces are playable by as few as 5 woodwind, brass or string players with or without percussion. This creates the opportunity for a mixed quintet to perform these titles but also allows for performance for 10-15 players up to full a band/orchestra with parts doubling. Great for music camps, contest use or any band room that has non-standard instrumentation. Inventions have changed our lives. Whether it be the wheel, electricity, car, telephone or the microchip, inventions have allowed us to live better, and sometimes longer, lives. This piece is about the path or journey to these great discoveries. The music is always moving forward-advancing. The Journey Onward - Michael Kamuf

was conceived by Michael Kamuf for beginning band students. It presents an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the concepts of syncopation, phrasing, and slurs. The Joy of Christmas

The performance of music is a significant part of the celebration of the holiday season with solemn and heartfelt songs and compositions. There are spirited works as well which exclaim the joy of the season. Three of these musical favorites, "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "I Saw Three Ships," and "Deck the Hall," are presented in a joyful medley of Christmas musical cheer.

The King's Chair - Jon Bubbett

Oak Mountain State Park is located in central Alabama and has some of the best hiking trails in the state. One of the most notable features along the trail is The King's Chair, a rocky outcrop that provides a splendid view of the park. The King's Parade - David Marlatt

This majestic piece depicts a king's procession through a medieval town. Grand and triumphant, the king parades past his subjects waving and greeting them.
