Make Way for Melody is a traditional march specifically taylored to the young band. It is written in classic march form and certain has a delightful melody. A perfect contest/festival warm-up march.

Man of the Hour - Henry Fillmore

As with many of Fillmore's great marches, this one was written to a man that Fillmore held in high asteem. It is classic Fillmore at his best. Tuneful as can be!!

Mangulina - Paul Basler

Based on rhythms from the Dominican Republic, this tour de force is destined to become a standard in the repertoire. A challenging piece, it is not for the faint of heart, but worth the effort. Put a little spice on your program!

Manhattan Beach

This timeless Sousa classic has been given the Andrew Balent treatment. The music is Sousa at his best and Andy has just tamed this wonderful march to be more playable by today's bands. You can't go wrong with a march by Sousa arranged by Balent. It is a winning combination!

Many Moons

A poignant balladic description of a memory of a New Mexico night sky, this lyrical piece encapsulates the feeling of wonder and humility felt when we stare out at a sky seemingly filled with hundreds of little moons. Beginning with subtle percussion and a cross-cued euphonium solo, a wistful theme is developed and passed throughout the ensemble. Multiple expressive demands related to phrasing, balance, listening, and tone let you teach these in a composition that sounds harder than it is. Use this ballad as a contrast to your opener in concert or as a second selection in festival or contest performances.

March in the Shadows

If you are looking for a different type of march to play this coming year, look no further. Here is a serious, yet quirky little march from composer Ed Kiefer for young bands. Beginning very quietly and in a minor key, it reminded the composer of something lurking in the shadows, hence the title. We know your students will like it.
