Bahn frei - Eduard Strauss

Eduard Strauss, the third son of Johann Strauss the Elder, was born on March 15, 1835, in Vienna. Originally, Eduard looked for employment in the diplomatic service, but he also studied music theory. He became a harpist in the Strauss orchestra in 1855. In 1862, he joined his two famous brothers Johann Jr. and Josef as a conductor of the family orchestra. Like that of his two brothers, his musical output was prolific: he wrote over 320 separate dances and marches. Apart from the exuberant Bahn Frei (Track Clear), which he wrote in 1869, and a handful of other fast polkas (he excelled in this particular dance form), his music is not as well known as that of his brothers.

Bahumba - Peter Sciaino

"Bahumba" is a nonsense word but a no-nonsense selection for concert band. The word stems from a sound composer Peter Sciaino heard coming from an idling car. The engine, clearly having issues, had an "uneven" gate or pulse. He mindlessly heard the word "Bahumba" within the sounds emerging from the struggling motor. Just like an engine, an ensemble can attain a smooth groove even if "uneven" in terms of pulse. While the percussionists are often asked to provide this groove under the melodic lines, they ultimately break out with a feature that essentially places a percussion ensemble within the context of a concert band piece. BAIA - Lionel Beltrán-Cecilia

BAIA is a symphonic episode inspired by the submerged Italian city. Through its melodies and sound effects, the authoraims to transport the audience to different moments, providing an aquatic perspective from the eyes of a restless andadventurous fish. This musical journey leads to the exploration of the city of Baia and its archaeological richness preservedbeneath the marine depths, even across time.[...In its time, Baia was an ancient Roman city that flourished during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. It was a luxuriousdestination and a significant political and social centre in the Roman Empire. Renowned for its thermal baths, impressivearchitecture, and beautiful natural surroundings, the city became a popular retreat for Roman high society, including emperors,nobles, and artists. However, over the centuries, Baia was affected by volcanic activity and changes in the coastline, resulting ina significant portion of the city being submerged underwater. Today, the remains of Baia lie beneath the waters of the gulf,turning it into a fascinating underwater archaeological site...]

Bailando Apambichao - Jesús Orielso

Commissioned by the Banda Sinfnica Infantil de Ch a, this work had its premiere in August 2015. It recalls the Dominican merengue in its "apambichao" variant, which is characterized by a more rhythmic nature and is well suited for beginner bands.Having a 2,5 degree of difficulty, it is a musical piece that livens up the spirits with its sound and joy.
