Using the beloved traditional Scottish ballad The Parting Glass combined with an original new melody, here is a beautifully paced and sensitive musical memorial with a Celtic flavor. A key element of this work is the use of Highland bagpipes. If a pipe player is not available, this part is cued in multiple parts throughout the band (or use a synthesizer with bagpipe patch). Celtic Journey is based on a memorable old Irish jig called Road to Lisdoonvarna. The setting begins lyrically with a simple statement that gradually adds more instruments as it builds to the sprightly middle section. With the full ensemble playing the tuneful melody and driving Irish rhythms in the percussion section, you hear all the color and flair thats exemplified by great Irish folk music.

Celtic Lullaby

Add an international flair to your next concert with this inspired piece based upon the old Irish folk song, "Carrickfergus," a town in Northern Ireland that has existed since medieval times. The folk song has been recorded by many artists including Charlotte Church, Joan Baez, Celtic Woman, Van Morrison, and 10,000 Maniacs. Performers will enjoy playing the lyrical melody as it moves throughout the band. A wide variety of percussion instruments will add to the Celtic flavor of the piece. A lovely melodic selection for any concert performance!
