Trumpet Fiesta (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Trumpet Fiesta spotlights four trumpet soloists. From the opening bars the music expresses a feeling of happiness. This swift and lively piece begins with a series of dynamic staccato passages from the soloists. The central section, in the minor key, contrasts with the beginning of the work and during this transition period there are only two solo trumpet parts. The first theme then quickly reappears before moving on to a peaceful and more melodic trio in which long and flowing melody lines allow the soloists to let the beautiful sound of the trumpet fully reveal itself. The sound pyramid then formed by the whole band leads this spectacular piece to a powerful finale. 03:12

To start he created a note-row from t he musical letters of James' name giving a minor seventh chord and an added flattened fifth. From this point everything went into the pot bringing out simplet tunes, cadenzas, and even muti-phonics! A real challenge for the performer but joy for the listener! Volcano is a work commissioned by the Municipal Wind Orchestra of Endingen in Germany. The three creative impulses which provided the basis for this symphonic poem are inspired by outside sources. They are closed linked with the history of the Orchestra and the region in which it performs. In this region is the Kaiserstuhl, an enormous rock situated on the edge of the Black Forest.
