A Little Night Music (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus - Stalter, Todd
Mozart's Serenade No.13 for strings in G Major, K.525 is commonly referred to as "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik," which stands for "a little serenade," but is more familiar to music lovers as "a little night music." This arrangement uses themes from the first movement, and is cast in a comfortable key and range for young band musicians. Careful attention to the sudden, extreme dynamic changes will make the performance of this piece really come to life.Duration: 2.15

With a Little Help from my Friends (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Forgie, Barry
Forgie, Barry has taken this Beatles standard, featured on the Sergeant Pepper album and given it a solid grade 2 feel. Each group of instruments introduces its own phrase building to a texture which sounds more complex that it actually is. There is plenty for the percussionists to do as well!

A Life Well Lived (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
A Life well lived was commissioned by the Morrish family in 2023 on the death of Ian Morrish. It is dedicated to them with the inscription in loving memory of Ian.I knew Ian from early days at Southall Citadel Salvation Army Corps and then our paths crossed again briefly when I joined the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. Ian had been a euphonium player in the band for many years and was about to leave to take up a teaching post in Surrey. He was always very involved in choral music, conducting choirs throughout his life. I therefore wanted to keep this piece song-like and actually started with the song which appears from letter D to the end, which can always be performed on its own. From there I used the rising octaves that introduce the song to form the beginning of the work, with the feeling in the back of my head of a river starting to flow. There is nothing referential in the more dramatic sections towards the beginning, but every life has its dramas and I wanted something to give some balance to the tranquil nature of much of the piece. In the middle of the work I use a little motif taken from a song I remember Ian singing in his floating tenor voice. I develop the motif a little as an accompaniment to a new line which has, for me, a sense of purpose and directness and has an oblique reference to the RAF March Past. This builds to the aforementioned song and from there the music flows with its highs and lows to its peaceful conclusion.- Rob WiffinDuration: 3.30

Marcia A Montecelio (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Naumann, Siegfried
Monticello is the name of a little place northeast of Rome where my wife and I have rented a simple home for more than 20 years. We participated intensively in the cultural life of the community where there was also a little band, the Banda Municipale Cornicolana, which consisted of about 55 wind players, mostly youngsters. One day, the "Il Direttore" came to me and asked if I would like to write a march for them, which I naturally did. It became the Marcia a Montecelio. After 14 rehearsals, with everyone tired, perspiring and red in the face, we were forced to give up. The march was too difficult for them. I then wrote another, easier march for them to perform at the forthcoming feast of San Michaeli. The Montecelio march was composed on pure inspiration in just two days. It is written in the Italian style - with a pinch of Sousa.

Little Rhapsody (Trumpet Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Waignein, Andre
Little Rhapsody is a contrasting triptych for solo trumpet and concert band. The warm and gentle introduction develops a lively theme and the accompaniment is kept light to best underline the soloist's flexibility and technique. The second movement is more romantic and reveals a serene and flowing melody. The third and last movement elaborates upon several joyful rhythmic patterns which give the composition a touch of freshness and elegance. Let your trumpet soloist shine with this first-class item.Duration: 7:45

Here We Come A-Wassailing (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Noble & Rutter
Here We Come A-wassailing (or Here We Come A-caroling) is an English traditional Christmas carol and New Year song, apparently composed c. 1850. The old English wassail song refers to 'wassailing', or singing carols door to door wishing good health, while the a- is an archaic intensifying prefix; compare A-Hunting We Will Go and lyrics to The Twelve Days of Christmas (e.g., Six geese a-laying). According to Readers Digest; the Christmas spirit often made the rich a little more generous than usual, and bands of beggars and orphans used to dance their way through the snowy streets of England, offering to sing good cheer and to tell good fortune if the householder would give them a drink from his wassail bowl or a penny or a pork pie or, let them stand for a few minutes beside the warmth of his hearth. This arrangement represents one in the Series of Band Arrangements compatible with David Willcocks' Carols for Choirs.
