Variations on L.B.I.F.D. (London Bridge is Falling Down) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Reed & Wagner
Alfred Reed needs no introduction for those who admire his distinguished concert band works. This arrangement for concert band draws from five movements of his original 28 composed for brass quintet based on "London Bridge Is Falling Down." Included are: "Statement," "Waltz," "March Fo(u)rth!," "A Little Funeral Music, Please (Eine Kleine Trauermusik)," and "Finale." A demonstration of compositional techniques practiced during the past three centuries, the work is filled with captivating and highly musical moments. Even though players will encounter a few changes in tonal centers, meters, and tempo throughout, there is not much that would get in the way of having a fun experience learning and performing. Funeral March of a Marionette (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gounod, Charles - Squires, Stephen
Famous for its use as the Alfred Hitchcock television theme, Charles Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette was originally conceived by the composer as a tongue-in-cheek parody of a music critic that he had come to detest. Now, Stephen Squires has skillfully arranged this work for Grade 3 bands. Interpreted with a sly wink of the eye, this classic novelty should be great fun for players and audience alike! Marche Diabolique - Brian Balmages
This sinister-sounding march is perfect for directors looking for something completely different. Using elements from a traditional march set in a contemporary framework, the music is based on tritone intervals surrounded by expansive, dark harmonic language. A wealth of percussion adds great color to the unsettling character of the music. Intriguing!

Pure Imagination (from )
With its message of endless possibilities and dreams fulfilled, this piece, from the 1971 Academy-award nominated film score of Roald Dahl's (1964), by songwriting team Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, has remained popular since the 1970s---and even more so today, or so says the more than 5.5 million views on YouTube. The tune surfaces three times in the movie, first during the opening title music, then as the feature number by Gene Wilder as he leads his assembled golden ticket winners into the chocolate room, and finally, as part of the "Wonkavator" music at the end. Great fun for all generations, and all generations to come! This arrangement provides a dramatic opportunity to teach expression. A charming and musical choice, it is memorable and heartwarming.
