The name "Aldacum" (alder wood) dates from the period of the Roman occupation, and is the Latin name of the brewing town Alken in the Belgian province of Limburg. The Koninklijke Harmonie Sint-Aloysius of Alken commissioned this concert march; the occasion was the 100th anniversary of the concert band.
