This is one of Harold Bennett's (pseudonym of Henry Fillmore) lesser-known marches, but that is no indication of its quality. It is a 6/8 march in standard march form but what is unique about this classic from the original Bennett Band Book is that it is one of the few Bennett marches that includes a "break strain." This makes it a great introduction for younger students to prepare them to play the more challenging marches of Fillmore, Sousa, and others.

The Bennett Band Books, published in four volumes starting in 1923, were used to teach the march form and style to literally millions of young band musicians in the middle of the twentieth century. These delightful marches composed by famous march composer Henry Fillmore (using the pseudonym Harold Bennett) have been given new life by arranger Larry Clark. This second collection includes an additional twelve Bennett marches. Also included is a helpful march warm-up section composed by Larry Clark to help teach march form and style to young students. Goldene Kameraden - James Barnes
"Goldene Kameraden" was commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Musikverlag RUNDEL. The title of the piece is a combination of the golden anniversary of the company and all my friends who work there - but it is also a humorous pun on one of my favorite German marches: "Alte Kameraden". Although marches are rather out of favor in the U.S. these days - unless they are by John Philip Sousa - I love to write them. And so I was happy to have the opportunity to compose this for Thomas Rundel, his family and the team at Musikverlag RUNDEL. The strict form of marches and the necessary march-like clichs required may seem restricting to other composers, but I perceive this as a musical challenge. It is like completing a crossword puzzle: one must go by all the traditional rules" but still produce something creative.

£104.50King Of Terror - W. Paris Chambers
William Paris Chambers (November 1, 1854 - November 13, 1913) was an American composer, cornet soloist and bandmaster who wrote several cornet solos and nearly 90 marches. His most famous marches are Chicago Tribune, The Boys of the Old Brigade, Hostrausers, Northwind and Revelation. The King of Terror March was published by J.W. Pepper in 1882. Its title is thought to be inspired by a carnival or midway attraction. The march is fast and furious, with all the drama and ferocity thats reflected in its name. Although one of his earlier marches, King of Terror contains all of the characteristics of Chambers famous bravura band writing.

£104.50Soldiers Chorus from Faust - Charles Gounod
Charles Gounods opera "Faust," loosely based on the Faustian legend and the play by Goethe, was premiered in August of 1859 and remains one of the most frequently performed grand operas in the repertory. One of the more memorable melodies in Gounods score occurs in Act IV when an on-stage band marches in as Valentin and the soldiers returning from war sing the rousing Soldiers Chorus. This march, along with the marches from Wagners "Tannhauser" and Verdis "Aida," are among the most beloved of operatic marches.
