Invictus (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - King, Karl L. - Glover, Andrew
A ponderous and dramatic march from the "King" of all march composers! Composed for King's friend Merle Evans, bandmaster for the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, "Invictus" (which means "unconquerable") lives up to its title! After a ponderous minor-key first section featuring low brass and woodwinds, the second features an exciting "circusy" sound. The trio is followed by a return to the minor key, and ends with a rock-solid final section. An excellent choice for more advanced high school, college, and adult bands, "Invictus" will impress audiences and engage performers from top to bottom! Duration: 2.30

American Song Settings, No.2 (Skip to My Lou) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Kreines, Joseph
It opens with a short introduction utilising the opening notes of the melody, proceeding to its first full statement in the upper woodwinds. The second presentation features the trumpets and xylophone followed by a statement in the bass instruments while the melody "Long, Long Ago" appears in the upper voices. A contrasting legato section follows, succeeded by a more rhythmic statement in woodwinds and trumpets. The melody then appears in the alto saxophones with a contrasting idea in upper woodwinds. A marcato statement of the melody appears as a three-bar phrase with a staccato accompaniment. Hawkeye Festival Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Williams, Mark
Hawkeye Festival Overture begins with a bright opening fanfare which leads to a rhythmic Allegro section. An Andante section in 3/4 time features a lyric trumpet solo and numerous harmonic suspensions.
