It is the most important event occurring in the city and consists of three processions walking through the centre of town to celebrate, at the city's expense, the good results achieved in school. The composer's arrangement for wind band follows closely the textures and colour contrasts of the orchestral original. The Suite, which is dedicated to his sister, is in six movements, all the tunes being selected from the first edition of John Playford's The English Dancing Master.
