Firestorm (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - O'Reilly, John
October 28, 2007 began as a typically beautiful Southern California day. But as the composer sat at his piano writing this composition, he became aware of a major firestorm raging within a few miles of his house. Dense smoke filled the air and a steady stream of helicopters flew into the local reservoir to fill up with water to battle the flames. John O'Reilly has crafted a remarkable piece that captures the drama of this event.Duration: 3:30

The Dragon's Lair (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Stalter, Todd
The sequel to Castles and Dragons, The Dragon's Lair tells the tale of the knights' search for the dragon's whereabouts, using a sturdy tune and countermelody in C minor to describe their confidence and swagger. Once the dragon is spotted, the music becomes faster and more accented as the knights engage the dragon in a fierce battle. Once the dragon is vanquished, the main theme returns as the knights celebrate their victory. The piece contains plenty of percussion parts to keep your players busy, and uses a friendly key structure to facilitate student progress on accents and playing complete phrases.Duration: 3.00

Eternal Light (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Meechan, Peter
Eternal Light is a piece of music telling the oldest story of them all, that of good against evil. The saxophones take the lead role, telling their tales of peace throughout the composition, whilst the brass are the forces of evil! They battle throughout the piece, before eventually the saxophones win the day, and good defeats evil in the peaceful conclusion.

The Legend of Castle Armagh (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Murtha, Paul
Commissioned by the Cabarrus All-County Middle School Band (Concord, North Carolina), this work was inspired by the composer's Irish heritage and the rich history of Ireland. With three main themes, this programmatic work opens with a peaceful sunrise with mist rising from the bog. The second theme describes the great hall of a majestic medieval castle, complete with vibrant colours and pageantry. The exciting battle theme follows and ultimately resolves to a return of the earlier themes. A wonderfully effective setting for beginning players!Duration: 3:10
