LOL (Laugh Out Loud) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Buckley, Robert
LOL (Laugh Out Loud) is a wacky, fast-and-furious barn-burner reminiscent of a circus march or screamer. It was written for the Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy in celebration of their 75th anniversary and as an opportunity to display their dazzling technical facility and humour. Cartoon-like trombone glissandi, flying woodwinds, dizzying brass and laughing rhythms create a zany and thrilling off the wall highlight to any occasion.Duration: 3.00

Escape from Dead Raider's Hollow (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Bell, Jeremy
"Escape from Dead Raider's Hollow" is a fast-paced adventure. Opening quietly, the introduction gradually builds in volume and energy up to a tempo change where the piece takes off and doesn't relent until the end. Combining rhythms of 3 over a pulse of 2 creates a hemiola effect that drives the piece forward, creating a feeling of anxiety and being chased. This is a bombastic, action-packed piece with loud percussive hits, huge brass, and soaring woodwinds that ends with a bang.Duration: 2:45

A Gaelic Blessing (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Rutter, John - Noble, Paul
There are Gaelic and old Irish blessings for every occasion whether a funeral, wedding or birthday. While many of these old blessings petition or request the help or intervention of God in some way, it does not always mean that the person saying them regards him or herself as being very religious. These blessings, whether in Gaelic or English, were the way Irish people had of expressing hope, desire for a better future and solidarity with their family, friends and neighbours. This simple arrangement offers the choices of performance with combined band and chorus, band alone, woodwinds alone, or brass alone. It also includes optionally three tolls of chimes at the beginning and ending, which make it a perfect tribute for commemoration.

Cathedrals (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Salfelder, Kathryn
Named the 2008 winner of the prestigious Frederick Fennell Prize for young composers (sponsored by ASCAP and CBDNA), Cathedrals by Kathryn Salfelder is a fantasy on Gabrieli's Canzon Primi Toni from the "Sacrae Symphoniae," which dates from 1597. The work is an ingenious synthesis of old and new, evoking the mystery and allure of Renaissance spatial music through the use of two brass choirs, and intertwined with a rich color palette, modal harmonies, and a variety of woodwind and percussion textures. A stunning addition to the wind band repertoire. Duration: 6:00

The Last Centaur (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Galante, Rossano
Composed in the style of a grand and descriptive film score, The Last Centaur is a musical depiction of a centaur who is separated from his family by war, the ensuing adventures, and ultimate reunion with his family and friends. The music begins with a stately, lyrical theme in the horns followed by solo oboe. This main theme is then woven throughout the work as it develops and grows with intensity. Sweeping woodwind lines and majestic brass fanfares capture the excitement of the drama and ultimate joyous resolution. Powerful and evocative writing! Dur: 6:00 (Recorded by the West Genesee (NY) High School Wind Ensemble - Andrew Perry, conductor)

Dogon (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Houben, Kevin
Dogon whisks the audience off on a journey to the steep slopes of the Dogon Valley. Majestic brass sounds sketch the exotic culture of the Malian Dogon people. The Dogon see the valley as both a threat and a promise for the future. This is represented in dark and mysterious chords. Now three soloists (horn, trumpet and soprano saxophone) bring the work to a dazzling conclusion, reminiscent of the colourful masked dances of the Dogon.Duration: 9:30

Sinfonietta No.1 (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Meij, Johan
Sinfonietta No.1 was originally written for brass band, commissioned by the Dutch National Championships 2011 in Groningen. It also served as the test piece for the Swiss National Championships 2011 in Montreux, Switzerland. In 2012, Johan de Meij created this version for wind orchestra. Unlike most of Johan de Meij's compositions, Sinfonietta No.1 is an abstract, non-programmatic work. It consists of three movements, in which the thematic material of the opening measures, an upward fifth jump. returns in various shapes and forms throughout the piece. The slow middle section features solo passages by cello, English horn and bassoon, all starting with the same fifth jump. The final movement presents an Elgar-like march theme, interspersed with quotes from the second movement, and ending with the opening theme of movement I.Duration: 15.30

Quelle est Cette Odeur Agreable (Whence is That Goodly Fragrance Flowing?) (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Noble & Willcocks
The original setting of this beautiful melody was for Strings and Chorus. This Concert/Wind Band version features the brass ensemble, the woodwind choir, as well as the full band. It is intended for combined Band and Chorus, but may be performed by Band alone. It is completely compatible with the published choral edition, except that it is written one-half step lower (E-flat instead of E major). There are no accidentals, and, apart from the instructions for andante and legato, the phrasing is left to the conductor. The simplicity and rich harmonic structure make this an important addition to the repertoire of young bands, and a perfect piece for any band to program for the Christmas season.
