Chapel Royal (A Simple Chorale) (Concert Band) - Carroll, Fergal
The chorale that forms the basis of this piece is entirely original but attempts modestly to evoke something of the spirit of the great composers of the Tudor age, at once rich but slightly austere, with an occasionally modal feel. There are almost no changes of metre and the marking is Largo, demanding a dignified tempo which lets the music breathe but keeps it moving. Duration: 1:20

St. Anthony Chorale (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Haydn, Joseph - Williams, Mark
This beautiful, unique chorale serves as the basis to Johannes Brahms's famous orchestral masterpiece Variations on a Theme of Haydn. (Long attributed to Franz Joseph Haydn, recent scholarship indicates that it was probably written by some other composer of the Classical period.) This arrangement is an excellent choice for the developing band. Duration: 2.30

Chorale and Canon (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - McGinty, Anne
The opening Chorale section of this very appealling beginning band piece introduces the theme that is then used in the Canon that follows. Skillfully designed to pass the melody to every section, this is a very rewarding piece for beginning groups. First published in 1984.

"C" IS FOR CHORALE (Young Band) - Erickson, Frank
The Choral Fantasy varies from the Choral Prelude in that it is much freer in form and style. This number opens with a variation of the fanfare that has been traditionally inserted as an introduction and interlude between stanzas. The chorale is then presented in a traditional harmonization by the full band. The second section is in a faster tempo, and is based on statements of the opening motive of the hymn presented in fugal style

Caccia and Chorale
The master touch of a gifted composer is evident throughout this unusual work. Splashes of woodwind color and brass chordal blocks are incessantly driven by vigorous snare drum ostinatos until, when it seems there can be no more, chimes signal the closing chorale. An emotion charged composition.
