Der Tod und das Machen (Death and the Maiden) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schubert, Franz - De Meij, Johan

Within the history of art song, the 600+ lieder of Franz Schubert stand supreme, though they were often intended purely for performance in his intimate circle of friends. Schubert arranged Der Tod und das Madchen for string quartet (an indication that he was pleased with the song) in 1824. Johan de Meij has adapted the second movement for concert band, where the majestic Death has an even more impressive appearance in the dark glowing sound of winds. Duration: 3.15

Triumph of the Skies (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Stalman, Wim

In Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, one of the most sung Christmas chorales in the world, the announcement of Jesus' birth is highlighted. The melody, originally written by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, has been given words, in which people are called to listen to the glad tidings as sung of by the angels. In their triumphant singing they express their joy and excitement about the birth of Christ. In this work, the chorale Hark! The Herald Angels Sing has been integrated in its entirety, so that it can also be performed with choir and/or community singing. Unfortunately the work didn't ever receive a performance however the festive march assumed a life of its own in an orchestration by Rimsky-Korsakov.
