Variations on L.B.I.F.D. (London Bridge is Falling Down) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Reed & Wagner
Alfred Reed needs no introduction for those who admire his distinguished concert band works. This arrangement for concert band draws from five movements of his original 28 composed for brass quintet based on "London Bridge Is Falling Down." Included are: "Statement," "Waltz," "March Fo(u)rth!," "A Little Funeral Music, Please (Eine Kleine Trauermusik)," and "Finale." A demonstration of compositional techniques practiced during the past three centuries, the work is filled with captivating and highly musical moments. Even though players will encounter a few changes in tonal centers, meters, and tempo throughout, there is not much that would get in the way of having a fun experience learning and performing. The Wand of Youth, Suite No.1 - I. Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Elgar, Edward - Noble, Paul
The Wand of Youth suites, subtitled Music to a Child's Play, were written in 1869 when Elgar was only twelve years old, music written for a play and acted by the Elgar children for a private family theatrical production. He noted the tunes down in a sketchbook and in 1907, forty years later, he rearranged with only minor changes and orchestrated them as the two suites titled The Wand of Youth, Suite Nos. 1 and 2. Although The Wand of Youth suites date from Elgar's mature years, he insisted on calling it Opus 1, because he wrote these pieces originally for piano many years earlier.

I Say a Little Prayer (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schaars, Peter Kleine
This bittersweet song from 1967 is a real classic, partly due to the rendition by two queens of soul, Dionne Warwick and later also Aretha Franklin. The theme was very topical at the time: A woman is concerned about her husband fighting in the Vietnam War, and thinks about him during her day-to-day worries. Top arranger Peter Kleine Schaars created a tasteful and carefully orchestrated version. His arrangement stays true to the original colour and feel of the song, and, as a grade 3 piece, is still perfectly playable for most bands. Duration: 2.30

The arrangement is written for combined band and chorus, but may be performed by band alone, featuring a variety of instruments carrying the melody and its harmonies. It is written one-half step (one semi-tone) lower than the original presentation to better accommodate band instruments.
