Cast in three short movements the work endeavours to recreate the pioneering spirit of the journey across America (the then 'New World') as this vast continent was opened up and its wonders exposed. The three dance episodes that make up the suite are symbolic in an analogous sense to this 'reaching' principle: the first - Earth Dance - is a vigorous overture, pushing out the frontiers; the interlude - Moon Dance - contemplates the huge distances to be crossed and Sun Dance represents the realisation of the American dream, rhythmic and full of energy. Up From Earth's Center
This brilliant programmatic work from the pen of Rob Romeyn is an incredible display of beauty, sensitivity, emotion and vigorous intensity. The journey begins on the morning of the great 1868 Hawaii earthquake. Peaceful and beautiful sounds of the black sand beach of Punalu'u are heard as the sun rises. The music then develops, first with a statement of the traditional melody "The Earth Is Our Mother" to remind us to respect Mother Earth and be mindful of her incredible powers. As the tempo quickens we are musically transported into the events of the fateful day, as the earthquake and resulting Tsunami ensued. As the movement of the earth subsides, we return to the beach of Punalu'u as Mother Earth begins her renewal of new life. Certain to become a classic for concert and festival use, this is music of highest quality!

This wonderful concert work takes us on a journey through time to the Roman Empire. The composer was inspired by the famous Via Sacra, once the main road through ancient Rome between the Colosseum and the Capitolium. Along the route were several important temples and sanctuaries - hence the name, meaning Sacred Street. Full of atmosphere, this dynamic work has something to offer for all sections of the band, so that playing fun is guaranteed. And of course, it is great to listen to as well!

Centenary 2019 is a three-movement suite based on a local folksong and was commissioned by Chr. Fanfare De Lofstem, from the Dutch province of Friesland, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2019. 'AwakeningVillage', the first movement, musically describes the waking up and coming to life of the village. 'Bintje Monument' was inspired by a famous sculpture that was placed to honour headmaster Kornelis Lieuwes de Vries (1854-1929) whodeveloped the well-known potato variety called 'bintje'. The finale, 'Journey into the Unknown' refers to the band's memorable 2011 concert trip to the United States of America, in which the composer combines elements of thefolksong and fragments from 'The Star-Spangled Banner'. The piece consists of a wide range of playful and melodic sequences as well as some galvanizing rhythmical passages.
