It was written on commission of the prestigious South Tyrolese concert band, Symphonic Winds. The piece features two soloists, one saxophone and one flugel. Mountain March - Wim Laseroms
A fanfare introduces This festive march is introduced by a lively fanfare which leads into the first, playful, melodic line which features a regular dynamic alternation and a light syncopated rhythm. After the traditional bass solo, the first theme returns. The initial theme, performed by piano and cantabile trio, later sounds in a jubilant forte with various figurations in the higher woodwinds. The fine work Mountain March is suitable as a street march, but will also gain much appreciation on the concert platform.

This was quite an accomplishment considering that this era was dominated by megastars such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Motown and other huge names. Apart from this, there are also many churches, chapels, windmills and a couple of museums--Mykonos is a truly ideal holiday destination.The Belgian wind band composer Johan Nijs captures impressions of the island's atmosphere in Mykonos. The work is written in a typically Greek style: two sirtakis are employed and the piece closes with acharacteristic Greek presto. Greek sounds are also incorporated into the slower passages.

This symphony is the most important work of Spanish composer Teo Aparicio-Barbern. The 2002 International Contest for Bands "Ciudad de Valencia", one of the most prestigious competitions in Europe, marked its first public performance. Throughout the work, which consists of three movements, the composer uses a modern musical vocabulary and combines strong melodic instrumentation with impressive rhythmic passages. Asgard is based on a Scandinavian romantic narrative in the light of the ancient Germanic Sagas....where the flowery landscape remains in that sweet-scented season where spring is always on the brink of summer. Its fields resemble smooth green lawns(maintained by the grazing red cattle and woolly sheep) and its forests are home to deer and songbirds. The area is protected by an unsurmountable stone wall, and is impossible to enter except by the grace of Odin. It is here, at High Nest in Val-hall, that Odin sits on his throne and surveys all those in his dominion.
