The holy night of Christmas is celebrated in many cultures throughout the world. Robert W. Smith gives us a new arrangement of the classic carol "O Holy Night" in a Celtic style. A Christmas Night (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Jeanbourquin, Marc

Christmas night evokes a multitude of images within every one of us: memories of sharing delicious meals with our family, of magical encounters, of celebrations, carol singing and music. In this work, Marc Jeanbourquin revisits four great Christmas Eve classics. The first chorale, Adeste Fideles, majestically opens this piece before taking the audience on to the famous Joy to the World. Such an arrangement would not be complete without the equally well-known Jingle Bells in a jazz version, before We wish you a Merry Christmas as a fitting conclusion to the piece. Cats' Night Out - Phillips, Todd

"Cats' Night Out" follows the adventures of a cat as it makes its big escape to explore the magical mysteries that await our feline friend in the darkness of the great outdoors. The opening line foreshadows the upcoming movements of our cat as it experiences a night outside. The first movement, "On the Prowl," musically represents the cat as it roams around the neighborhood looking for adventure. The second movement "Mouse Hunt," melodiously depicts a cat as it hunts down its favorite prey the mouse. The surprise ending represents the mouse making his great escape. Night Disco (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

What could be better than a night out on the town? Luc Gistel obviously thought nothing! This entertaining composition has plenty of sounds that will remind young and old of many a night spent in the disco. After a tune that even John Travolta himself would have danced to, the mood quiets down for the obligatory slow song, during which new couples and old lovers can dance a little closer. Then things heat up again until the wee hours of the morning... 05:25

Night on Bald Mountain Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

The symphonic poem Night on a Bald Mountain took its inspiration from a story by the well known Russian writer Nicola Gogol. Mussorgsky took no steps to promote his masterpiece and it was only after his death when Rimsky-Korsakov was looking through the enormous stack of manuscripts that the work resurfaced. Written above the score, Mussorgsky gives a brief description of the story of Night on a Bald Mountain: Gathering Witches, their gossip and chit-chat; The Procession of Satan; Pagan Worship of Satan and Witches Sabbath. This transcription for concert band by Tohru Takahasi remains true to the orchestral original. 0:10:56
