Midnight Ride (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Galante, Rossano
Three main themes comprise Midnight Ride by Rossano Galante. Paul Revere's motif is a romantic, heroic melody that captures his bravery and tenacity. The Brown Beauty theme (Paul Revere's horse) incorporates a slower, lush musical offering that captures the strength and beauty of this animal. Jig (from St. Paul's Suite) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Holst, Gustav - De Meij, Johan
Together with his good friend Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst had a strong liking for the abundant folk music of the British Isles. This influence is heard in many of his works and is perhaps strongest in his Second Suite for Military Band and in the Saint Paul Suite for string orchestra. This work was composed in 1913 for the school orchestra of St. Paul's Girls School in London, where Holst was the Director of Music. The suite opens with this exuberant Jig, a dance originating from Scottish and Irish folk music in alternating duple and triple time (6/8 and 9/8), which has been expertly arranged for concert band. Duration: 3.00

Wachet Auf! (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
This excellent arrangement by Robert van Beringen is of the well-known German chorale Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, taken from the oratorio Paulus (St. Paul) by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847). Although accredited to Mendelssohn it is thought the melody was in fact written by the pastor and poet Philipp Nicolai in 1599. Robert van Beringen's arrangement perfectly captures the biblical story of St. Paul. 0:03:45

Saint Paul's Cathedral - Filip Ceunen
Saint Paul's Cathedral in London has been rebuilt several times over the centuries. The building of today's cathedral began at the end of the 17th Century and lasted some 30 years. It was partly damaged in the bombing raids of the Second World War. The building is known above all for the monumental dome and for the many personalities who are laid to rest - such as Admiral Nelson, Florence Nightingale and Winston Churchill. In Saint Paul's Cathedral, Philip Ceunen gives his own impression from his visit to this iconic building.

Ouverture To The Three Angels - Jelle Tasseyns
This overture was written in 2000 and pays homage to the composer Paul Hindemith. The composition is based on "Es sungen drei Engel. The song dates back to the 12th century and was originally a Christmas carol. Mahler used this melody in his 'Des Knaben Wunderhorn' and in the finale of his third symphony. Paul Hindemith also uses this melody as a chorale in the 'Engelkonzert' of his 'Mathis der Maler' symphony. This melody is not only used extensively in the 'Overture to The Three Angels', it also forms the main theme of the entire central piece. In this central piece, the melody can first be heard as a fugue by the woodwind instruments and then by the brass instruments andultimately ends in a grand tutti which features all the themes of the entire work. The first and the last part of the composition are not based directly on the chorale melody but constitute a contemporary commentary of the central part. These are not literal references but rather the sounds of the heralds.
