Keep Me Praising - Score only - Andrew Mackereth
Program NotesBased on the song melodies "Give Me Joy in My Heart, Keep Me Praising" and "Praise, My Soul the King of Heaven," the music is largely light-hearted in nature with some florid semi-quaver work overlaying the melodic lines and some interesting interplay between the two selected tunes. We believe that it will have wide appeal both to players and listeners.Andrew Mackareth originally wrote this piece for The Salvation Army's Symphonic Wind Ensemble, but it was first published in a rescored version for brass band. We are please to be able to release it in its original form in this collection of wind band music.

Variations on 'Laudate Dominum' - Edward Gregson
The theme is a noble hymn tune by Sir Hubert H. Parry, associated with the words 'O praise ye the Lord'. There are seven contrasting variations that will provide much interest to the player as well as the listener, the seventh of which is a fugato which leads into a triumphant finale where the theme is heard for the first time in its completion. This, we feel, will be a significant work for Wind Band as it has been for the brass band movement.

Child in a Manger (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Rutter, John - Noble, Paul
The tune for Child in a manger first appeared as Bunessan, composed in the Scottish Islands, published in 1900 as a Christmas carol with lyrics translated from the Scottish Gaelic by Mary McDonald. The hymn tune later appeared in 'Songs of Praise', published in 1931 as Morning has Broken. This arrangement represents one in the Series of Band Arrangements compatible with David Willcocks' Carols for Choirs.
