Bohemian Rhapsody (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Mercury, Freddie - Sparke, Philip
Bohemian Rhapsody is undoubtedly one of the most important songs in the history of rock 'n' roll. The song defied all convention in terms of form. It has no chorus. Instead, it comprised of an introduction, ballad, guitar solo, operatic interlude, hard rock section and coda. Perhaps the most mystifying aspect of the song is the lyrics, which are commonly thought to be autobiographical, although members of the band have never fully explained them. Bring the house down with Philip Sparke's authentic arrangement!Duration: 6:30

Bohemian Rhapsody (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Amano, Masamicz
Bohemian Rhapsody was a massive worldwide hit for the pop group Queen. It topped the charts in 1975 and again in 1991 and 1992. The song is somewhat unusual for a pop hit as it is in the style of a rock opera and pushed the boundaries of both pop music and promotional music video. This arrangement for concert band retains all the operatic gymnastics of the original and will be an extremely popular item at any concert!Duration: 5:15

Singapore Rhapsody (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jacob
Singapore Rhapsody is an exciting work in two movements based on popular Malaysian folksongs. The songs that occur in the first movement are Rasa Sayang eh (a love song), Gelang Sipaku Gelang (a song about community spirit), Suriram (a song about a girl proclaiming her virtues) and Di-Tanjung Katong (a love song that takes place at the Cape Katong on the southeast coast of Singapore). The second movement features Lenggang Kangkung, which literally means "The swaying of the watercress," Katang Lompat (a moralistic song about the symbolism of the frog) and finally Kenek kenek-lah Udang (a wedding song). Moravian Folk Rhapsody (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sheldon, Robert
This work for band is a setting of several delightful Moravian folk dances. "Stoji hruska v oudoli" is a fast-paced two-step dance. "Rozluc se Ancicko" features a clarinet solo in a mournful, yet lilting, slow 6/8 melody. "Preskoda nastokrat" is a highly rhythmic piece in a moderate tempo that features a brief double reed/piccolo section. "Ma zlata maticka" begins with an unaccompanied alto saxophone solo, then includes a folk dance that begins slowly and increases in tempo. "Vojaci jedou" is a proud and uplifting march in 3/4 time. "U Kltera pole" ends the rhapsody with a lively 2/4 dance that builds to a rousing conclusion. Performers and audiences alike will enjoy the wonderful colors and tonality of this charming music from the Czech Republic.Duration: 9.20

Rhapsody in Blue (Piano Feature with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gershwin, George - Hunsberger, Donald
The wind accompaniment to George Gershwin's popular piano solo, Rhapsody in Blue, is based upon the 1924 and 1926 Grofe editions for jazz band and theatre orchestra. Donald Hunsberger has scored this edition for 23 players which produces a leaner and more muscular version to serve as a companion to Thomas Verrier's setting for full concert band or wind ensemble.Duration: 17:30

Ukrainian Rhapsody (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Cesarini, Franco
Folk music plays an important role in the life of the Ukrainian people. Their country covers an area of over 600.000 square kilometres and has more than fifty million inhabitants. In the north there are vast woods, in the west one finds the picturesque Carpatian mountains and valleys, and in the centre and the south Ukraine has its famous steppes with fertile black soil. The river Dnjepr divides the country in two, forming a natural frontier between the western and eastern regions, which each have their own distinctively different musical folklore. This diversity forms the musical basis for Ukrainian Rhapsody. The work consists of three movements: the first one, in a moderate tempo, without a pause flows into a slow but very expressive middle movement, resulting in a powerful climax. The composition ends with the Gopak: a rousing dance.Duration: 9:00

A Highland Rhapsody (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Van der Roost, Jan
After Israel (Rikudim), Hungary (Puszta) and France (Suite Provencale) it was Scotland, with its famous highlands, that was to be a source of inspiration for Jan Van der Roost. In a musically impressive way the composer combines the characteristics of Scottish folk-music with his own creativity. As may be expected from Jan Van der Roost 'A Highland Rhapsody' developed into a gripping concert piece, which will be appreciated by both players and audiences.Duration: 6:15
