Extreme Make-Over was inspired by a theme from the second movement of Tchaikovsky?s String Quartet No.1 (Andante Cantabile). It consists of a number of musical metamorphoses on the theme and includes several excerpts from Tchaikovsky?s Fourth and Sixth Symphonies and Romeo and Juliet. The most unconventional element of the work is instrumentation for ten tuned bottles to be played by members of the cornet section. This gives the piece an Indonesian Gamelan effect. Why not give your players something to get their teeth into with this impressive major new work.

Maintaining the delicate balance between their trinity - nature, man, and creation - is an important factor for bliss and happiness.Primeval Sound and Dreamtime The tens of thousands-year-old stories from the era calledDreamtime - the Aborigines' creation myth - play an important role in not only their beliefs, but their everyday lives and laws as well. Ancestral worship and various other rituals and ceremonies are still held in high regard to this veryday.Running HunterThe Aborigines are extremely skilful hunters and are able to run for extended periods of time when chasing their prey. Hunting weapons, such as the boomerang, exemplify their abilities.Uluru (Red Rock)Uluru, also knownas Ayers Rock, is a natural sandstone "inselberg" rising 348m above Australia's plains, and is one of the country's most recognisable icons. Uluru is also a sacred place for the local Aborigines. Its history stretches back to Dreamtime, although itdid not exist in its current state at that time.Encounter with the White MenUnfortunately, the "White Men" did not realize the significance and importance of the Aborigines and their culture until the end of the 20th century. Naoya Wada's style is characterised by a positive and optimistic undertone. This is also the case in this composition, with the expressive title Towards the Bright Future. The opening fanfare is played by the brass and immediately provides the basis for the themes in a composition where melodious passages alternate with blaring brass and several flashing changes of time. This work was composed on commission to the Kokura Nishi High School Band for its 110th anniversary. The composer dedicated it to Hirofumi Matsumoto, the school''s director.

Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 2 in Eb, completed on 27 May 1783 was possibly the first of the four horn concertos to be written despite its number. It was composed for Mozart’s lifelong friend Ignaz Leitgeb whom he liked to poke much fun as the original manuscript demonstrated in the concertos sub heading ‘Wolfgang Amad? Mozart has taken pity with the Leitgeb ass, ox and fool.' There are also comedic moments in this last movement towards the close where there are gaps in the music and an accelerated coda section.
