Hymn For Africa (Trumpet Solo) (Concert Band - Score Only) - Meechan, Peter
Inspired by the release of Nelson Mandela in the early 1990s, "Hymn for Africa" pays tribute to the sense of dignity and peace that he brought not only to South Africa, but around the entire globe. As the beautifully lush chorale unfolds, quietly undulating drums murmur in the distance and gradually build into a rousing climax.

Walking the Dog (Clarinet Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gershwin, George - Bourgeois, Derek
Walking The Dog is one of Gershwin's lighter numbers. It is a clarinet showpiece that is just as much fun as the title suggests. Taken from the movie Shall We Dance, staring none other than the great Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Walking The Dog catches George Gershwin at the very height of his powers. Rather than the bustling, complex symphonic scores he was by-now accustomed to knocking out, it's a simple, elegant little stroll, as the title suggests. In fact, in the 1937 film, it accompanies a scene of dog-walking, aboard the luxury deck of an ocean liner. Since its use in the film, though, the song has taken on a life of its own and become a popular showing-off piece for clarinettists everywhere. Interestingly, it's also the only section of score from the whole of Shall We Dance that remains - the rest of the movie's music remains sadly unpublished.Duration: 3.00

Tuba Concerto (Tuba Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip
When writing his tuba concerto, Philip Sparke wanted to create a work which explored the many aspects of the instrument's technical and vocal qualities but without resorting to caricature. The result is a concerto in two joined movements, which can both be programmed individually, that contains both many lyrical lines together with stunning virtuosic passages. An outstanding concerto that tuba players and band audiences alike will enjoy and applaud.Duration: 13:15

Chanson De Matin (Flute Solo) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Brand, Michael
This piece was a quick pot boiler, written in 1899 at the same time as he was completing the Enigma Variations, which was to see his break-through as a composer, but the Chanson has also made its mark as a lovely reminder of late Victorian ballads at their best.

Dreamsong (Piano Solo with Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Saucedo, Richard L.
Here is a special composition that serves a very special purpose for young band programs - an opportunity to feature a piano soloist with concert band. The piano part itself is lyrical and not technically demanding. The band parts are easy to learn and lend support for the soloist in addition to sharing in the melody at times. A wonderful change of pace for your next concert.Duration: 3:00
