Last Ride Of The Pony Express - David Shaffer

From April 1860 to October 1861, the Pony Express was the fastest way to get a message across the Western half of the US. Now David Shaffer's exciting composition may well be the fastest way you can get your band excited about their next concert or contest performance! It's a colorful and invigorating work which captures the spirit of these great pioneers and all sections of the band get a chance to lead the way. Includes exciting percussion parts which are all quite playable and yet give the music character and energy! EXTREMELY NICE!

The Glacier Express - Larry Neeck

"The Glacier Express" is a famous Swiss excursion train that has traveled through the Swiss countryside between Zermatt and St. Moritz since 1930. Larry Neeck's composition is clearly descriptive of the train's journey and the spectacular scenery that passes throughout mountains, glaciers, lakes, tunnels and quaint Swiss villages. Lots of musical contrasts including a nice trumpet solo and interesting parts for every section! Ample percussion parts are sure to keep even a large "herd" of drummers both interested and involved. A wonderful piece for developing bands and an outstanding choice for festival or concert performances! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

How Deep The Father's Love For Us

"How Deep The Father's Love For Us" is a timeless hymn from British songwriter and Christian worship leader Stuart Townend, written just before the end of the 20th century. This poignant setting for band by Anthony LaBounty was written to honor Mr. William Leslie, the father of beloved colleague Thomas Leslie, and purposely borrows vignettes of imagery recognized in Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring, among other orchestration elements. The tune is melodious and alluring; equal to the text bountiful in poetic language illuminating the scriptural epitome of the ultimate love of a father.

Leader of the Class - Ed Hickeby

Here's a piece that attacks the age old problem of how to challenge your best beginning students while not leaving behind the students of lesser abilities. The first Flute/Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Sax and Trumpet parts all contain a variation on the melody which should be performed by your best students. The 2nd parts to those same instruments are written at the regular beginning band level. Contains an optional keyboard part to help out in bands with instrumentation problems. It's a great motivator and will keep your best students challenged. Very Highly Reccommended!
