How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Clark, Larry
Of all the Dr. Seuss stories, possibly none is more delightfully charming than the take on that mean old man who disliked Christmas so much that he stole all the presents, the toys and the Christmas trees. As should befall any villain, he is transformed and his heart "grew three times its size." This is a superior holiday medley with two great songs and wonderful incidental music. The Haunter of the Dark (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Cesarini, Franco
The Haunter of the Dark is based on a tale by the author Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937) about a deserted church, where according to an old legend a monster had been lying low for years. A scientist who studies ancient religions visits this church. Besides some ancient writings he discovers a box, which contains a luminous stone. Every time the stone sheds its light, the scientist experiences all sorts of weird visions. The church in the tale actually exists, and can be found in Providence (USA). Franco Cesarini has visited it and sketches the mysterious and occult atmosphere in The Haunter of the Dark.Duration: 9:30

Trumpet Classics (Trumpet Solo) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Johnson, Stuart
Trumpet Tune - John Stanley (1713-1786) was an English organist and composer despite being blinded by an accident when he was only two years old, He learned music when he was seven and held several prestigious appointments as organist in London churches. Andante from Trumpet Concerto - This is the second movement of the well known Trumpet Concerto written in 1796 when Haydn was 64: a mature work therefore. Johnson, Stuart has cleverly transposed the piece into F Major (G Major for the Trumpet) and also replaced the original 6/8 with 6/4, making notation more accessible for younger players.

Pastorale de Provence (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Cesarini, Franco
Cesarini composed this work as a tribute to the memory of Darius Milhaud, born a century earlier in Aix-en-Provence, France. The premiere, conducted by the composer, was presented by the Civic Philharmonic of Balerna in December, 1992. The titles of the four-part suite include: La Villageoise (The Village Maiden), Le petit berger (The Little Shepherd), La Princesse (The Princess) and Le Lutin (The Imp). The numerous musical reference themes begin with five folksongs from the Provence region and continue with melodies written by French composers of the seventeenth century. Additional interest is created by the use of old dance forms (Ronde, Musette, Pavane and Farandole) to illustrate each historical character.Duration: 9:30
