This work for soprano and concert band was originally written for a special occasion: the wedding of one of the composer's children. It therefore matches another piece written for a similar occasion "I Shall Love But Thee". The lyrics are from the book Respiro Neve by the internationally renowned art photographer Luca Artioli who possesses poetic talent as well. The first movement is stately and serene as where the contrasting allegro is much more dynamic and cheerful, requiring the solid high register of the singer. The conclusion is festive and radiant, partly thanks to the contribution of a piccolo trumpet! This work is a wonderful addition to the bandrepertoire wanting to perform with an excellent vocal soloist!

Stepstones was commissioned by the Harmonie Victoria Titeng from Ttange (Luxembourg) for its 125th anniversary. The composer references the music of Rossini, who died 25 years before the commissioning band was founded. The second element this work refers to the legendary conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein who was born at the time the band celebrated its 25th anniversary. This spectacular overture has a strong historical and musical story and is ideal to open your concert in style and grandeur!

This piece was written for two sons of the composer as a welcome to young and innocent lives in to this big world. The concept and instrumentation of the composition allows any young band to play this piece. The optional celesta (keyboard) is a refreshing addition, evoking the sound of an ancient music box, and has a meaningful part as the music box fades out at the end of the piece.

Addio Napoli is a medley of well-known Neapolitan melodies, including Torna a Surriento by Ernesto de Curtis (1875 1937), Neapolitan Dance by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 1893) which he used in his famous ballet, SwanLake Maria, Mari!, a Neapolitan song by composer Eduardo di Capua (1865 1917), and of course, Funicul, Funicul by composer Luigi Denza (1846 1922). Glorioso was commissioned by, and is dedicated to, the 'Siena Wind Orchestra'. The work opens after a short aleatoric intro, with an energetic and brassy 'one tone fanfare'. The note F acts as an omnipresent note, and is also used as a bridge into the second, rather static movement. A noble sounding theme leads to an impressive climax, shortly followed by the spectacular and virtuoso finale, which is built on the musical elements that have been heard before. Stylistically, this sparkling finale is clearly influenced by Dmitri Shostakovich, hence the use of the famous signature used by the Russian Master: C D E flat B (or C flat). A glorious finish to a special workthat highlights various facets of the modern concert band.

This arrangement for two trombones was written for and dedicated to trombone legends Joseph Alessi and Jrgen van Rijen. It serves as a possible encore piece in combinationwith Two-Bone Concerto, which was also written for them. The duet can also be performed by two euphoniums, or as the original vocal duet for tenor and baritone voice.

The name Cambrinus, a corrupted variation on 'Jan Primus' (John the First), refers to the flamboyant John I of Brabant, who was the Duke of the Dutch provinces Brabant and Limburg, in the second half of the 13th century. This piece of music tells the story of this notable man, starting with the Battle of Worringen in 1288, where he scored a glorious victory, followed by an exuberant celebration in which he also contemplates about the suffering he and his men have caused. The works offers exciting energetic musical scenes with lots of action, as well as beautiful romantic and heroic themes offering plenty of opportunities for your band to unfold all its qualities.
