Bass Clarinet, Euphonium, B flat BassThe Zoo Ball is a suite of twelve light-hearted pieces for the young wind of brass band by Keith Strachan. It can be seen from the titles that the young player is introduced to a variety of dance rhythms that are both fun to play and enjoyable to listen to.It is scored in five parts (some of which divide in places) so can be played by ensembles of aroung ten players up to full band. When a fuller instrumentation is available, teachers and conductors are encouraged to vary the scoring as appropriate, particularly in repeated sections. ZOO BALL (Score) - Strachan, Keith
Zoo Ball is score in five parts with various transpositions for each voice. Parts 1 & 2 are the Soprano parts. Part 1 should 'outweigh' part 2 in sound, if not in numbers, as it is often divided. Trumpets/Cornets and Clarinets should be divided accordingly between the parts. Part 3 is the Alto part. It is occasionally scored as an individual part but frequently doubles part 2 or 4. Part 4 is the Tenor part. Part 5 is the Bass part and frequently doubles part 4, either in unison or at an octave lower. The Zoo Ball is a suite of twelve light-hearted pieces for the young wind of brass band by Keith Strachan. It can be seen from the titles that the young player is introduced to a variety of dance rhythms that are both fun to play and enjoyable to listen to.It is scored in five parts (some of which divide in places) so can be played by ensembles of aroung ten players up to full band. Theme from Ladies in Lavender - Nigel Hess
Set in a picturesque coastal Cornwall, in a tight-knit fishing village in the 1930s, Ladies in Lavender starred Judi Dench and Maggie Smith as sisters Ursula and Janet Widdington. A young Polish violinist from Krakow, Andrea, is swept overboard from a ship bound for America. When the sisters discover the handsome stranger on the beach below their house, they nurse him back to health. However, the presence of the musically talented young man disrupts the peaceful lives of both Ursula and Janet, and the community in which they live. This arrangement of the much-loved theme from the film has been arranged for wind band.

Evergreen Fanfare - Wind Band (Sean Brown)
The majestic Evergreen Fanfare (Sean Brown) was written in Autumn 2010 and is aimed at a young wind band. The composer writes: 'My goal with Evergreen Fanfare was to have the quality of sound and music that a more advanced band work (or even an orchestral work) would have, but at the difficulty level suitable for an advanced middle band or young high school band. My aim is to always write music that is pleasing to listen to for both the performers and audience alike, musical experts or novices alike.'
