From the brilliant opening fanfare to the big closing crescendo, this piece is a vibrant dialogue of "call and response" from every section of the band. The spirited two-measure theme appears throughout, sometimes surrounded by staccato punctuation, sometimes accompanied by flowing sostenuto lines. Superb writing for young band!
