A Fisherman's Tale - Ryan Meeboer

Using the style of Canadian folk songs from the East Coast and the story-telling features of Newfoundland, is a piece about a trip out into the ocean. The piece opens with the solemn, chorale-like movement, "Farewell," as the fisherman leaves his home and family to begin the excursion, and closes with "Return to Harbour," an up-tempo movement representing the worker's successful homecoming.

A Frontier Fought and a City Found - Travis J. Weller

The struggle of the Seven Years War unfolds in this new work that chronicles the eventual conquest and establishment of Fort Pitt by British Forces in 1758. The opening solemn section gives way to vigilant and driving exchanges between various instrument groupings in the ensemble. Bold fanfares from the brass and a flurry of woodwinds bring this work inspired by the history of Pittsburgh to a fantastic conclusion.

A Game of Cat and Mouse - David Bobrowitz

The chase is on! Two parties engage in a constant back and forth until one is finally victorious. That's the fun of by David Bobrowitz for concert band. Musically, the energy starts at measure one and never lets up. Typical of a Bobrowitz composition, every part is active with important material to play. That will make this a piece that students will want to play repeatedly. It's a winner for the conductor, students and most of all, the audience, who will be wowed by the ability demonstrated by your band.

A Gershwin Tribute to Love - George and Ira Gershwin / arr. Brent Heisinger

A medley of four Gershwin favorites: "'S Wonderful," "Love Is Here to Stay," "They Can't Take That Away from Me," and "Embraceable You."
