I'm Seventeen Come Sunday - Percy Aldridge Grainger / arr. Douglas E. Wagner
Australian-born Percy Grainger developed into one of the most sensationally successful concert pianists of the early 1900s. As a composer and arranger, he is perhaps best known for his work with folk music. Number eight in Grainger's British Folk-Music Settings series, "I'm Seventeen Come Sunday" is actually an amalgam of two English folk songs -- the main tune collected by Grainger in 1905, from Lincolnshire, and a variant of a tune collected by Cecil J. Sharp in 1912, from Sumerset. Welcome Douglas Wagner's sensitive setting of one of Grainger's best-known works. (3:00)

Iberian Escapades - Robert Sheldon
Written for the Boca Raton Middle School Band in Florida, was inspired by the resort architecture of Addison Mizner, whose Mediterranean-style estates launched a "Florida Renaissance" and inspired architects across North America. Mizner identified each of his Boca Raton villas with Spanish names, three of which are captured in this musical collage: (it watches the sun) is a fanciful Flamenco-style opening; (the east wind) presents exotic colors and romantic themes; and (the bounty of war) ends the piece with an aggressive and energetic statement.
