Fillmore was known throughout Florida as "Uncle Henry" and he was instrumental in the development of band programs throughout the state. A great tune!

136th U.S.A. Field Artillery - Henry Fillmore

Editor Robert Foster has uncovered another forgotten Henry Fillmore march and restored it to its rightful place in band repertoire. This may be one of the best Fillmore marches we have heard that is for the most part still unknown. Written to stir patriotism during World War I, all of the wonderful Fillmore trademarks are present in this exceptional march. It is tuneful, exciting and well-scored; presented in a full score edition for the first time, exactly as Fillmore intended it to be.

6-Note Folk Song Suite

6-Note Folk Song Suite is intended for a young band with at least six weeks training. The suite is comprised of four familiar melodies:Mary Had a Little Lamb, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, Hot Cross Buns, and When the Saints Go Marching In. Every instrument is showcased with an opportunity to play the melody. Using only 6 notes of the B-flat scale, each tune can be performed as an independent melody, without repeats if needed.

6-Note Santa

This arrangement of Jolly Old Saint Nicholas is perfect for the beginning band winter concert. Based on the first 6 notes of the concert Bb scale, the scoring ensures every instrument gets a chance to play the rhythmically simple melody. The only eighth notes appear in the snare drum part. Written with the composer's typical expertise for a great sounding and easy-to-put together composition, try this for a jolly good time.

A Certain Slant of Light

A Certain Slant of Lightis inspired by the introspective moodcreated by the rays of light on a dark cloudy day. A colorful, murmuring introduction is followed by a rich main theme in a minor key. It is a well-scored and fresh-sounding piece that will help young bands enhance their musicality.
