Acclamation - James Curnow

An excellent work for contest and festival use! Based on the ancient hymn All Glory, Laud and Honor, Acclamation is composed as a set of symphonic variations. After an opening fanfare and a statement of the theme, three largevariations in different styles are developed. The "moderato'' middle section utilizes subtle syncopation to create a pleasant contemporary character. This medium-easy piece is sure to be a favorite concert and contest selection for years to come.

Accolada - Ed Huckeby

An exciting and appealing composition at the medium easy level that features Huckeby's popular style of changing meters and lively syncopation. The slow section features a short solo for oboe (cued in other instruments) and a nice solo section for flute. Solid, contemporary writing makes this piece a wonderful choice for either concert or contest performances.
