EUPHONIUM MUSIC (Euphonium/Concert Band) - Bowen, Brian

Something of a classic in its brass band and piano versions. Written in 1978, the work is constructed in three movements and is virtually a concerto for euphonium and band. The first movement begins with an unaccompanied motto theme, which uses all twelve notes of the scale but with a tonal feel. The slow second movement is based on an original song melody by the compsoer - The Eyes of God - and affords lyrical and richly expressive playing that is typically euphonium. movement three follows without a break - a capricious movement which ends triumphantly. Duration: 15:00 American Grade 5

Euphoria (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

Euphoria is a bracing composition which concentrates its energy on the baritones/euphoniums. The solo parts require at least two soloists. This piece opens with a syncopated introduction followed by a statement of the simple melodic theme interpreted by the baritones/euphoniums. The style of performance is particularly affected by the alternation of staccato and legato passages. The finale of this work develops through a progression of accelerandos and crescendos leading to an amazing conclusion. 03:00

    Eureka!

The California Gold Rush began on January 24, 1848, when gold was discovered by James W. Marshall at Sutter's Mill, in Coloma, California. Using unique scoring techniques and multiple tambourines as "pans," "Eureka" is David Shaffer's musical depiction of the first miners attempts at panning gold from the American River and their perilous trip by horseback to San Francisco to stake their claim. Breathtaking musical excitement, simple but clever staging of the "panners" combined with the historical importance of that era will make this composition a must for your concert repertoire. Appropriate for festival, contest, and concert programs, this composition will make a rousing closer to any program.

Euro Celebration (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Waignein, Andre

The Euro is now here to stay! Of course we will have to get used to the new currency, but eventually it will make travel and life much easier throughout Europe. The deciding factor in the Euro's success will be the level of co-operation between the countries involved. Each country will have to work together to make the Euro thrive. While writing this concert march Andre Waigneir had this thought in mind as is indicated by the subtitle - Sine Labore Nihil! (Without work nothing is achieved!) 05:10

European Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

With its unique structure, European Overture brings out the vast potential of the concert band. The work opens with a magnificent fanfare followed by a lively allegro section. The lento of the middle section gracefully meanders bringing several soloists into the spotlight. Following another pulsating allegro section the work comes to a close with a final restatement of the central melody. A fantastic opener for any concert. 06:10

Euterpe Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

Music is an indispensable element in the lives of human beings. In nature, we see the essence of this principle reflected. Plato imagined the cosmos as a live animal: all parts are connected in harmony. From this point of view, the universe forms a large pentagram in which all notes flow together perfectly. This is confirmed around us every day. The twittering of a canary, the sputtering of fire, the sparkle of a waterfall pattering and falling on stones, the rattle of a snake that takes on a threatening attitude, or even the silence of the desert are expressions of Euterpe (the muse of music). Why not let your flautist shine with this major new solo work. 12:37
