There is a Flower (Concert Band with Optional Choir - Score and Parts) - Rutter, John - Noble, Paul
Named 'the world's greatest living composer and conductor of choral music' by US television station NBC, there's no denying Rutter's skill at seducing both choirs and audiences alike with his rich harmonies and folk-like melodies that often have the air of being written centuries ago. There is a Flower is one such piece - a simple, spare treble melody starts the work and is gradually enriched with delicious choral textures. This arrangement represents one in the Series of Band Arrangements compatible with David Willcocks' Carols for Choirs.

All-Night Vigil (Vespers), Suite from (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Rachmaninoff, Sergei - Juchniewicz, Jay
All-Night Vigil (Vespers) is a setting of music for a night-long service on the eves of Russian Orthodox holy days, and became one of Rachmaninoff's favorite compositions. Basing the 15 movements of his choral setting on a combination of traditional Russian Orthodox chants, Latin hymns, and original chants by the composer, the work was completed in less than two weeks in 1915. This arrangement utilizes the 1st, 2nd, 7th, 10th, and 12th movements, along with the traditional "Amens" at the beginning of Movements 1 and 2. Unlike other settings of choral works for wind ensemble, this arrangement is constructed as a complete suite that is intended to allow the performers and audience to experience the power and beauty of the complete Vespers. Serenity (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gjeilo, Ola - Wilson, J. Eric
Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo is an emerging star in the realm of choral works, and also with music for wind band. Similar to his earlier band works, Meridian and The Spheres, Serenity is based on a successful choral work. Beautifully arranged by J. Eric Wilson along with the composer, this version for wind band maintains all the wonder and magic of the original work. The opening is ethereal and sombre, with sustained chords in clarinets and bowed percussion supporting a delicate oboe solo. The middle section shifts the principal modality from minor to major, and the layering orchestration and rising tessitura creates a tremendous rush of energy that leads to a triumphant climax. The closing section returns to the timbre of the opening, but now painted with hopefulness and healing.Duration: 5:00

Nativity Carol (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Rutter, John - Musgrave, Monty
John Rutter (b.1945) is one of England's best known composers of choral literature. While his choral works, including Te Deum, Magnificat, and Requiem, are the most familiar, he has also written numerous instrumental works. Rutter composed the "Nativity Carol" for SATB chorus and organ in 1963, and it was published in 1967 as part of a collection entitled Carols for Two Choirs. Although the title suggests a seasonal work, its musical richness lends itself favorably for performance at any time of the year. Duration: 4:30
