Jazzimut (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
In 2009, one year after its formation, the Swiss brass ensemble Azimuts Brass commissioned its conductor, Marc Jeanbourquin, to write them a signature tune. He composed Jazzimut, which features a festive introduction followed by a lyrical theme. After a few bars of rock rhythm, Jazzimut goes disco and finishes with a recapitulation of the introduction as a fanfare. Now available for concert band this is an entertaining piece from start to finish! 02:45

Highly descriptive contest music in two movements. "Entrance of the Gods'' is a study in contrasts with bold, powerful tutti phrases followed by soft, lyrical woodwinds and low brass passages. "Tribal Dance'' features many rhythmic woodwind lines accented by sharp brass accents and a variety of percussion sounds.

Red Rock Mountain - Rossano Galante
This composition is an episodic work that paints a musical portrait of Red Rock Mountain, a beautiful mountain landscape in Pennsylvania. Brass fanfares and soaring wind lines begin the piece, transitioning into an emotional section depicting the mountains at dusk. As the sun rises and sheds light on its peaks, the music becomes lyrical and rhythmically incisive, culminating in a heroic brass finale depicting the grandeur of these stunning East Coast mountains. (6:00) This title is available in MakeMusic Cloud.

Camelia City March
Written to celebrate the "Camelia City" (Quitman, Georgia), this traditional style march is written in the style of Henry Fillmore. Starting with a light, happy woodwind melody with simple flourishes in the low brass, the march then moves through dynamic changes before a trio that features low clarinets and euphonium with a unique woodblock percussion accompaniment. Ending with a return to brass flourishes, this classic march is perfect for learning the traditional musical form.

Heavy Mettle
The title Heavy Mettle is naturally a play on words and affectionately refers to the low brass section. Filled with enthusiasm and a resilient spirit, these students are often the foundation and heart of any band. Although not specifically a low brass feature, Heavy Mettle is a driving and energetic work that pays tribute to these indispensable players! Dur: 1:50

The Hunter Becomes the Hunted - Emil Kristoffersen Børø
The horn is often associated with hunting. Hunters in earlier times used horns to signal their hounds during the hunt. In this piece the roles have been switched, and the horn is the one being hunted. The soloist has to escape the hunting low brass and gunshots of the band. The piece was originally composed for horn player Mats Pettersen and The Bergen Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in 2013, and was transcribed for horn player Bartosz Wawruch and Bergen Symphonic Band to be performed at the Brass Wind Festival in Bergen in 2017.

Viking Saga - Ray Farr
"Viking Saga" was inspired by my conducting engagements in Norway in the 1980s. Among them was a visit to the Flekkefjord Pike Korps who asked me to write a piece for them. I had just written "Adventures in Brass" which was very popular, particularly with younger bands, so I decided to pursue the creative energy. My teacher, at that time, was Professor Edward Gregson who encouraged me to develop my ideas into a full-scale work. The piece received a few performances in this version but neither I, nor my teacher, were satisfied so the manuscripts lay dormant. In the summer of 2002 a band from Switzerland- Cordula Brass Baden and Christoph Moor, who had played the piece under mydirection in the Swiss National Youth Band, commissioned me to finish the work and make the changes that, I felt, were needed. In 2016 the Tnsberg Wind Band, from Norway, commissioned a wind band version for their performance in the Norwegian Championships held in Trondheim 2017.
