Shalom Chaverim is an ancient Hebrew (farewell)song, which was originally sung at the end of a celebration or meeting. It was and is mostly sung as a round. Freely translated the words mean "Goodbye, friends, goodbye and see you again!". The varying moods at a parting have been captured very well by Andreas Schulte in his arrangement 'Variations on Shalom Chaverim'. The composer himself says about the song, 'Although the melody is in a minor key, the overall atmosphere in the song is positive. one wishes each other all the best. Saying goodbye, however, also hurts. When you slow down the pace of the melody and add 'blue notes' in the harmonies, this can be sensed immediately.'Schulte refers here to the first variation. The second variation is very intense with possibly even deeper-felt emotions. 'Variations on Shalom Chaverim' ends on a cheerful and positive note, in fast tempo, and with oriental elements in the melody: 'L'hitra'ot, Shalom' (See you again, and farewell!).

When you are thrown completely into the top you will have a fantastic view over the park, but you can not enjoy itfor long. Before you know the ship swings back the other way.Part 4: The Fairy Tale Ride [with illustrations]After all those exciting and spectacular rides and attractions, it is time for a peaceful tour in The Fairy Tale Ride.Surrounded by a fairytale setting, you will discover fable figures, talking animals and colorful designs. Such a beauty and tranquility. Having had this experience, we are ready again for the big rides in the park!Part 5: The Bumper Cars[with illustrations]Now its time to crawl behind the wheel of the Bumper Cars! Shall we all chase the conductor?! Before you know you are hit by another visitor or you will bump against someone else. In this tough ride you can prove yourselfas a real driver, or perhaps as a really bad one.Part 6: The Roller Coaster [with illustrations]The largest, fastest and scariest ride in the park ... we should definitely do the Roller Coaster! All together in the train, theover-the-shoulder restraints are lowering... be ready to ride. The train leaves the station and is heading for the big lift hill. It will be very scary when the train reaches the top and the train will be plunged down the first drop! Loops,corkscrews and other spectacular coaster elements will follow... First Light - Steven Bryant
The title First Light refers to the arrival of dawn - specifically the composer's experience of dawn in the mountains surrounding Lake Garda in northern Italy. There, the light of the sun arrives in distinct stages: the night sky begins to brighten quite early, though the sun remains hidden behind the mountains for several hours. Abruptly, the first direct ray of sunlight crests the mountaintop, bringing with it intense, palpable heat. The town below, nestled in the narrow space between the water's edge and the steep mountain slope, remains in darkness for a while longer, until the sun ultimately sends light cascading down the mountainside, illuminating everything. Adding to the minuscule number of Klezmer pieces for concert band, Nonantum Bulgar is the 20th piece published in the BandQuest series. The title, Nonantum Bulgar, refers to Nonantum, a district in Newton which is home to the city's oldest synagogue (on the National Register of Historic Places), and bulgar (pronounced 'bull-ghar'), a type of Klezmer dance. When writing the piece, the composer imagined the dedication of the Adams St. Shul, which took place over one hundred years ago and featured a prominent Boston cantor and choir and a klezmer orchestra leading a Grand March down Adams St. This upbeat work is fun to play, features a trumpet solo, and gives every instrument the opportunity to play the melody. The series was started as a response to feedback from music educators that there is a pressing need for new, fresh band music. Perfect Trip derives its title from the horse racing term which refers to the flawless performance of a winning steed. It was written for the 20th anniversary concert of the Ridgewood Concert Band in New Jerseyat the request of the band's founding director, Dr. C. Christian Wilhjelm. The piece itself lasts not much more than a typical one mile horse race and depicts the event from the observer's perspective: the initial burst of energyat the starting gate and the ensuing excitement approaching the first turn, the suspense as the race develops along the far stretch, and the increasing drama as the pack rounds the final turn and heads down the stretch for the bigfinish. Recorded by the Ridgewood Concert Band, Christian Wilhjelm, conductor. (Grade 4)

On August 14th 2020, the composer Noah Wada saw the Perseids meteor shower from a hill. He could clearly see many bright stars streaming across the sky, as if they were falling down on the earth. The dazzling sight was enough to inspire him to compose this overture."Starlit Landscape" was commissioned by the Kawagoe High School Band, Kawagoe City, Saitama, Japan and premiered on March 20th, 2023 by the band and Mr. Hiroki Mori, director."Starlit Landscape" is a sparkling overture from the Japanese composer Naoya Wada. It begins with a bold brass fanfare over a bright woodwind passage.

£51.60Sakura Variations - Kees Vlak
The blooming of the cherry trees each spring is a great event in Japan. In the evening friends meet under the pink and white cherry blossoms for a picnic. It is a striking sight, especially in big cities. Vendors sell Japanese food, entertainers andclowns perform, and the typically cautious Japanese seem to be more relaxed during the cherry blossom, or "Sakura". Kees Vlak captured this atmosphere with his "Sakura Variation"; its theme employs a subtle drum rhythm. The first variation is titled"clowns" and opens with three bass drum strikes. The theme appears in 3/4 time and is repeated several times with surprising changes. An impetuous tempo with dissonant elements suggests a clown's mischievous behaviour. The second variation in a minormode sounds very sad and dramatic. Is this the sadness when thinking of the end of the cherry blossom, as all the petals "snow" down from the trees? The cherry trees will bloom again next year, so the finale celebrates a joyful "Sakura".
