£53.95Annabel Lee (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Story, Michael
Scored in a lilting three-quarter meter, this delicious melody, by an unknown composer, was originally scored to accompany Edgar Allan Poe's poem of the same name. The story is of the narrator's deep love for a woman who lived by the sea, and whose untimely death is mourned every night by the narrator as he sleeps next to her tomb by the ocean. The beautiful melody, charismatically harmonized, musically depicts that undying love and provides a meaningful opportunity to teach expressive and lyrical performance.Duration: 2:15

£60.50America, the Beautiful (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Ward, Samuel Augustus - Dragon & Wagner
The rich musical legacy that Carmen Dragon left the world usually includes his solid reputation as a consummate orchestrator. He is best remembered for the iconic arrangement of "America, the Beautiful" for both symphony orchestra and symphonic band (grade 4 original setting). Samuel Ward's familiar tune enjoys a sumptuous feast of harmonic colour and instrumental nuance, and is now available in an edition for younger players and their audiences to enjoy. All of the majestic beauty and awesome grandeur of Dragon's original is preserved in this scoring, with appropriate accommodations made for less experienced instrumentalists. £60.50Pure Imagination (from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Bricusse & Newley - Wagner, Douglas E.
With its message of endless possibilities and dreams fulfilled, this piece, from the 1971 Academy-award nominated film score of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1964), by song writing team Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, has remained popular since the 1970s. The tune surfaces three times in the movie, first during the opening title music, then as the feature number by Gene Wilder as he leads his assembled golden ticket winners into the chocolate room, and finally, as part of the "Wonkavator" music at the end. Great fun for all generations, and all generations to come! This arrangement provides a dramatic opportunity to teach expression. £195.00Johannesburg Festival Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Walton, William - Noble, Paul
Johannesburg Festival Overture was composed for orchestra by William Walton for the 70th anniversary of Johannesburg, South Africa in 1956. Walton received the commission from Ernest Fleischmann, musical director of the Johannesburg Festival Committee, to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of the city. Fleischmann included in his request to include some African themes. For inspiration he requested recordings of African music from the African Music Society. The effect of these recordings can be heard with percussionists performing on eleven instruments. The composer also incorporated the main theme from Jean Bosco Mwenda's Masanga (which had been released on record in 1954). Walton described the piece to his publisher as a non-stop gallop...slightly crazy, hilarious and vulgar. This arrangement for Concert Band captures the original colour, excitement, and energy of the original orchestra work, and should become a staple in the repertoire of excellent bands.

£89.99La Procession du Rocio (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Turina, Joaquin - Reed, Alfred
Composer Joaquin Turina (1882-1949) was a native of Spain, but was influenced early in his career by the impressionistic harmonies of Debussy and Ravel while studying in Paris. Upon returning to Spain he drew inspiration from Spanish folk music with La Procession du Rocio becoming one of his best-known works. The music portrays a festival and procession that takes place in the Triana neighbourhood of Seville, and is filled with wonderful idiomatic Spanish musical elements. Alfred Reed's marvellous transcription created in 1962 remains an enduring staple in the repertoire for wind bands.Duration: 8:30

£118.99Songs from the Catskills (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Meij, Johan
The Catskill Mountains is a beautifully preserved region in Upstate New York, flanked to the east by the Hudson River. From the moment Johan de Meij and his wife settled in 2008 in Saugerties, a quaint Hudson Valley town 100 miles north of Manhattan, he started immersing himself into the area's rich musical history. Discovering a fascinating mix of American, Irish and Scottish folk music, ultimately, it was not easy to choose from such abundance. In the end Johan de Meij ended up using the following songs The Foggy Dew, Last Winter was a Hard One, A Poor and Foreign Stranger, The Bluestone Quarries, and The Arkansas Traveller. The music makes a side trip to The Old Tobacco Box before coming to a festive conclusion.Duration: 8:45

£60.50A Canadian Christmas (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gassi, Vince
Get ready for an abundance of merriment! This work features carols that have been traditionally sung in Canada for many years and will help to create a spirit of mirth in no time. It opens with the joyous strains of "Il Est N? Le Divin Enfant (He is Born, The Divine Child)" and continues with the plaintive and modal "No?l Nouvelet (Sing We Now of Christmas)." "The Huron Carol ('Twas In the Moon of Wintertime)" is then presented with remnants of "No?l Nouvelet" cleverly woven in. The dramatic conclusion develops brief dialogue between "Good King Wenceslas" and "Il Est N? Le Divin Enfant" that brings the work to an exuberant and powerful close. Juxtaposing the lyrical and expressive with the joyous and cheerful in this masterful arrangement will add a little touch of Canada to your next holiday concert. Duration: 4.00
