Autumn Colors (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - O'Reilly, John

Autumn is always an exciting time of the year for children as they head back to school and fall sports. For the composer John O'Reilly, autumn is a special time because of the dramatic colours that dot the Adirondack Mountains in New York State. Summer is over and autumn is the lovely season that precedes the harsh winter to come. Autumn Colors is set in a natural minor tonality and features flowing melodic lines from all the winds. This lyrical ballad portrays the warm feelings the composer experiences when the leaves put on their yearly display of beautiful colours.Duration: 2.15

Palestrina Suite (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Palestrina, Giovanni - Moss, John

Codon (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Houben, Kevin

Codon is a term used in the field of molecular genetics to describe the interaction between the three elements that are important for both the creation and the preservation of life. Kevin Houben uses this term as a metaphor for the interaction between the conductor, the musicians and the committee of a concert band. They all have the same goal, to preserve the life of the band. This work consists of three movements, symbolising birth, life and death - either of a human being or a band. From the foundation of a band over good and bad times up to the optimistic future, this work will appeal to the soul of every band member in the world!Duration: 17:00

Yellow River (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Christie, Jeff - Schwalgin, Stefan

The little known English group Christie became famous overnight in 1970 when they released the record Yellow River. Yellow River is a Vietnam era song (a protest against the Vietnam War) and describes the wish of a soldier at the front to return home. Band leader, singer and composer Jeff Christie initially wrote the song for The Tremoloes, but as the group were uncertain about it he decided to record it himself. The result was a number one hit in over 25 countries! The catchy melody and beat were reason enough for Stefan Schwalgin to create this arrangement for concert band.Duration: 3.00
