Christmas Night is John Rutter's setting of a traditional French Carol, with words by John Rutter. It became the theme of one of his Christmas albums, focusing on the central event of the Christmas story, the birth at Bethlehem, and on the characters in that story: the angels, the shepherds, the wise men, and the mother with her child. This arrangement is written for combined Concert Band and Chorus, but may be performed by Band alone. The arrangement is technically very easy, and is a showpiece of the colours and textures of the families of band instruments.

A Fantasy AdventureSnow White is undoubtedly one of the best-known of all fairy tales, first appearing in the Grimm Brother's 1812 collection Grimm's Fairy Tales under the original German title of Sneewittchen. According to the mythologies the story actually took place in Spessart. It is even allegedly possible to identify specific reference points within the plot to Lohr and its environs. Thomas Doss has taken this opportunity to link this story to the area, and has even incorporated the motif from the famous "Spessart Song" into each of the four movements. O kerstnacht, schoner dan de dagen ('Oh Christmas Night, more beautiful than the days') is a stately chorale that sings the praises of Jesus' birth. There, they worship the new-born King, and offer him gold, frankincense and myrrh: Wij komen van Oosten (We've come from the East').
