£127.30Brittern - Solo for F-Horn - Elisabeth Vannebo
"Brittern" was written for my good friend, Brit Johnsrud to her Solo-CD recording "Light Blue Outfit". Brit is a former hornist with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and works today with the professional Navy Band in Bergen. This solo piece is inspired by traditional, Norwegian folk music. The slurs of the music it intended to make character to the "Halling" (A traditional Norwegian dance). The music also include trills, but for these the soloist may vary and decide where to play these. The tempo are approx. quarter note=88. Chords appears at letter E in solo part. This part of the piece may be improvised. If improvised, please omit some of the parts (are marked with May beomitted).

£101.20A Spring Lullaby - Andrew Pearce
During the past few years, Andrew Pearce enjoyed a fruitful collaboration with Phillip Cobb, principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra, composing such works as The Maestro and Interlude for his album in 2012. Later Cobb invited Pearce to compose a slow melody, accompanied by the Central Band of the Royal Air Force for Cobb's upcoming album, displaying his softer, expressive side on flugelhorn. This song-like, warm lilting lullaby reflects on the joy of life.

Frank Bridge (1879 - 1941) was one of the leading English composers of his time. In October 1922 he adapted his popular string quartet Sir Roger de Coverley for full symphony orchestra and Sir Henry Wood agreed, at the last minute, to include it in the last night of the Queen's Hall Promenade Concerts at the end of that month.This elaborate and colourful orchestral version has never been widely performed, but has now been brilliantly transcribed by Alastair Wheeler to provide a miniature dance poem for grade 5 level concert band.Bridge's lively treatment of one of England's most famous traditional dance melodies willmake a fitting end to any concert, with the strains of Auld Lang Syne introduced by Bridge as a nod towards Sir Roger de Coverley's traditional function as the final dance of a Christmas Ball, as it was in Old Mr. Fezziwig's party in Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

£256.99The Unknown Journey - Philip Sparke
The Unknown Journey was commissioned by Kwansei Gakuin University Symphony Band which was established in 1954 and has grown to become one of the top college bands in Japan. The composer chose the title as the piece seemed to create its ownmomentum as it developed, starting slowly and continuously increasing the tempo. Towards the end it gradually transmogrifies into the closing bars of Ravel's La Valse, a piece which perfectly characterises the idea of unstoppable momentum.

The word nexus is defined as a tie or link between people and events. Nexus for solo trumpet and band includes several links between composer James Curnow and educator Alfred Watkins, to whom the work is dedicated. A well-knowntheme (particularly to Mr. Watkins' students) is drawn upon as the piece utilizes two primary musical settings - an energetic and agile scherzo that appears in the beginning and again at the end, contrasted with an expressiveballad theme. Television viewers of nearly a hundred countries have experienced rpd Balzs's touching melodies. The series of cartoons have neither dialogue nor text: the music presents the amiable and entertaining adventures of the rabbit with chequered ears and its friends. Balzs has rephrased and developed the well-known melodies and as a result a ''children's story symphony'' of seven movements has been created in which, in contrast with Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, there is no narrator but the instruments themselves represent the story-tellers. The composer has again associated the groups of instruments with one another in a colourful and varied manner, skilfully alternating the modes of solo, chamber orchestra and orchestra. Movements I, II, IV and VII represent a ''short suite'' that can be independently performed, thus due to its duration of four minutes and easier level, ensembles with more modest opportunities can also perform it. The most well-known parts of the cartoon series music - the main title and the ending - are included in both versions.
