Herald!

Scored for younger bands, Carl Strommen's Herald is a rousing march/fanfare. For maximum effect and richness of sound, the piece was written for full ensemble (except for meas. 27-26). Students will enjoy the regal nature of this piece and will feel as though they are playing above their experience level.

Here We Come A-Wassailing - Anonymous

An easy and straightforward arrangement of a popular Christmas Carol that features clever rhythmic variations on the tune. Mildly dissonant harmonies and imaginative scoring, including a brief, but effective, solo for the percussion section, add spice to the traditional Christmas brew.

Balent has arranged the piece into playable keys and brought down the ranges, but left the march still very much intact. Sousa himself would approve of this arrangement. These wonderfully tuneful marches are great choices for contest/festival and for teaching the standard American march form and style to your students. Larry has been a champion for getting young bands to play in this important style and has successfully brought us another lost gem by Henry Fillmore.
