Incursion

Incursion was a collaboration between composer Sean O'Loughlin and the students of the commissioning group. When asked for a dark and scary sounding piece, O'Loughlin delivered in his typical fashion. Aggressive rhythmic figures set the tone of the piece with a foreboding and dark melody in the lower voices. The piece develops through several contrasting sections, providing plenty of exciting variations for students to enjoy.

Beautiful, lyrical and fresh best describe this very nice piece by Alan Lee Silva. With his signature open and lyrical compositional style, Silva's works are unlike others in the field, which make his pieces such a breath of fresh air. Developing bands will really soar at contests with this one.
