Score & Parts. Cloudcatcher Fells was originally written as a Brass Band work, but was transcribed into the contemporary wind ensemble while remaining true to the original. The title comes from a poem by David Wright, and the work is associated with various places (mostly mountains) in the Lake District. The emphasis is on the Patterdale area, though other parts of the Lake District are also referred to, and the work falls into a series of sections which group themselves into larger units, so that is becomes almost a four-movement work played continuously. The composition was meant to be very virtuoso and was written for the euphonium player Steven Mead, who premired it and has played it regularly worldwide. The magnificent hymn was written for the "Royal Brass Band St. Katarina and Peter Benoit" and is dedicated to their chairman, Paul van Montfort on the occasion of his 30th anniversary as chairman of the association. Majestic Solemnity - Menno Bosgra

King Karl King - Henry Fillmore
Originally written for a film (The Big Brass Band) that was never made, this terrific but little-known march turned out to be the last march that Fillmore would write. Unusually rich in harmony, it was not published in Fillmore's lifetime. He had asked that it be named After his friend and fellow march composer, Karl L. King, if the movie was not produced.
