Extra Score. Cloudcatcher Fells was originally written as a Brass Band work, but was transcribed into the contemporary wind ensemble while remaining true to the original. The title comes from a poem by David Wright, and the work is associated with various places (mostly mountains) in the Lake District. The emphasis is on the Patterdale area, though other parts of the Lake District are also referred to, and the work falls into a series of sections which group themselves into larger units, so that is becomes almost a four-movement work played continuously. Includes: Great Gable; Grasmoor; Grisedale Tarn; Haystacks; Catchedicam (Catstye Cam); Angle Tarn; Grisedale Brow; Striding Edge; Helvellyn. Duration: 17 mins.

A rapid flourish in 12/8 time opens composer Otto M. Schwarz' first Concerto for trumpet Trumpet Town, written in October 2009. The metric changes that follow affect the pulse rhythmically and melodically, in exciting and unexpected ways. The solo trumpet's displays of technical prowess and bravura alternate with the film-score-like tutti sections of the brass ensemble. The slow, almost elegiac, central section can be performed on the flugelhorn, while the closing reprise demands that both the soloist and the orchestra give of their best as the piece comes to an exciting, colourful, and uplifting finale. El Arco De Los Cabos
This exciting paso doble is named for the famous "Arch of Los Cabos" found at the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula. This natural stone arch is a landmark where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet. Commissioned for the Five-States Honor Band in Guymon, Oklahoma, this work features bold brass statements contrasted with lyrical woodwind lines and dynamic Latin percussion reinforcement. EUPHONIUM MUSIC (Euphonium/Concert Band) - Bowen, Brian
Something of a classic in its brass band and piano versions. Written in 1978, the work is constructed in three movements and is virtually a concerto for euphonium and band. The first movement begins with an unaccompanied motto theme, which uses all twelve notes of the scale but with a tonal feel. The slow second movement is based on an original song melody by the compsoer - The Eyes of God - and affords lyrical and richly expressive playing that is typically euphonium. movement three follows without a break - a capricious movement which ends triumphantly.
